Hi, it’s nice to meet you!

Linda is a food writer and photographer who hails from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is a Nyonya Peranakan with family roots from Taiping. She grew up with a mixture of Peranakan and Cantonese food at home and learnt some of her favorite recipes first hand from her mother, grandmother and aunts. Later on, she travelled the world and came into contact with Japanese and Western cuisines that she enjoys cooking. However her culinary heart will always be Malaysian Chinese with a lot of spices!

Paul comes from Georgetown, Penang and is related to the Khaw clan from Bukit Tambun from his mother’s side. He grew up with Peranakan and Penang Hokkien food and assumes that Penang Asam Laksa is the best culinary experience in the world. Paul enjoys all kinds of Malaysian Chinese food and he is very glad that he gets to taste them at home here in Colorado, USA. Paul helps in writing stories and cultural bits for the blog. He is also the part-time video cameraman for our food channel, Chomel Productions.

Our home, our sanctuary

We are often in the kitchen or the backyard preparing meals and gardening together! There is always so much to do to keep us occupied.

Some of my favs

Hor Yip Fan is a combination of rice, Chinese sausage, mushrooms, and other goodies wrapped in lotus leaf. This fragrant and delicious rice is usually served at the end of a wedding feast or festival dinner. | MalaysianChineseKitchen.com

These super yummy Lobak (Five-Spice Meat Rolls) are made with beancurd sheets, pork tenderloin, and spices. They are deliciously crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Also very easy to prepare. | MalaysianChineseKitchen.com

Make this special Steamed Stuffed Winter Melon Soup the centerpiece of your table spread for a family reunion or gathering. It is exciting and super delicious! | MalaysianChineseKitchen.com
